FAQs

When will my order arrive?

After placing your order, it takes 1-3 business days to process order, and another 1-7 days for the carrier to ship your snacks. The holiday seasons and COVID-19 pandemic might cause possible delays. You should receive your tracking number as soon as the order processes. It typically takes 24 hours for the tracking number to update with the estimated arrival date.

How do I track my order?

When your order ships you will receive a separate email providing you with a tracking number to track your order. Sometimes this email gets sorted into spam or promotions folders so be sure to take a look in there if it feels like you have been waiting a little too long.

You can also log into your account and click on the order in question to see the status.

*Please note that sometimes the tracking can take a day or two to be updated by the carrier. If it looks like its not moving, chances are its on its way! 

Are your snacks allergen-free?

Bean Bark contains soy in the form of soy lecithin. Other than that, there are no nuts, dairy, preservatives, gluten or other allergens present in our snacks. Some products do have "May contain" warnings as our manufacturers process other products that do contain these allergens. There are proper cleaning procedures in place between production runs, however there is a (low) risk of cross contamination, and we advise customers with allergies to consume at their own risk. 

How long will my snacks keep for?

All our products have a shelf life of 1 year. Be sure to check your packaging for the Best before date.  The product is still edible after this date, but we cannot guarantee the quality of it.

Why is it called Bean Bark?

Bean Bark is a combination of what the snack is made of- black beans and chocolate bark! 

Why is it crunchy?

The crunchy texture comes from the beans. We cook, dehydrate, and grind them down into a coarse powder. The texture mimics nuts, while keeping our snacks nut-free!

What does upcycled mean?

Another word for upcycled is imperfect. These are fruits and veggies are deemed 'aesthetically unpleasing' and are often thrown into landfills. However, they're still nutritious, so we use them in our snacks to reduce food waste.

New find

For me, this could easily become my favourite snack. I enjoy the dark chocolate mixed with dried fruit. It is healthy, affordable, tasty and no harmful ingredients. I love that is made in Canada. The texture is a bit 'rough' compared to other similar chocolate snacks and I would personally like it smoother. I would still buy this in the future.

Good snack

It has an interesting texture. It tastes good. It's vegan. It's a good source of plant-based protein. It's upcycled. It reduces food waste. I would buy it again. I like it.

Good effort but not the one

I was looking forward to finding a new on the go snack option but was disappointed with Bean Bark. Although I appreciate the concept and that the product helps use products that would go to waste otherwise, taste wise, this doesn't meet the mark. It was too grainy and earthy tasting while not having significant enough health & nutrition benefits to justify going for this product over another chocolate snack. W
